NYPD top cop Maddrey resigns amid explosive sexual harassment allegations

In a shocking turn of events, Chief of Department Jeffrey Maddrey, the NYPD highest-ranking uniformed officer, has resigned after Lt. Quathisha Epps, a subordinate, accused him of sexual harassment, including demanding she “kiss his penis”

According to Epps, Maddrey’s alleged harassment began in June 2023, when he landed the position of Chief of Department.

She claimed he would often proposition her, asking for sex in exchange for overtime at NYPD headquarters. Epps alleged that Maddrey would frequently text her “DAP,” which she said meant he expected anal sex ¹.

Epps recounted a disturbing incident where Maddrey allegedly bent her over the arm of a couch in his office and forced her to have sex. She claimed he inserted himself and continued despite her pleas to stop ¹.

“He said he dreamed about f–king me in my a–,” Epps alleged. “I said, ‘But Chief, you’re the Chief of Department.’ He rubbed his chest. . . . His work pants were open. He was like but ‘I’m still a n—-r and you look good'”

Maddrey has denied the allegations through his attorney, Lambros Lambrou, who stated, “What a convenient time to accuse somebody of misconduct after she’s caught stealing time… She’s obviously drowning and in the deep end of the pool without a lifesaver”

This is not the first time Maddrey has faced allegations of sexual misconduct. In 2016, a former police officer, Tabitha Foster, filed a civil suit accusing him of exchanging sex for job perks, but the case was thrown out ² ¹.

Maddrey’s resignation has sent shockwaves through the NYPD, with Chief of Patrol John Chell set to replace him on an interim basis.

Epps and her lawyer, Eric Sanders, plan to file a notice of claim with the city comptroller’s office, outlining the allegations.
