Manhattan: Husky stabbed after attacking cleaner, two men arrested in shocking incident

In Manhattan, a cleaner was bitten by an unleashed husky, leading to dramatic confrontations and the arrest of two men.

The chaos unfolded around 9 a.m. near the corner of 14th St. and Fourth Ave., where a worker from the Union Square Partnership business improvement district was sweeping rubbish off the sidewalk.

Suddenly, the husky attacked the worker, biting him twice. In a desperate attempt to defend himself, the man pulled out a knife and stabbed the dog several times. The commotion roused the dog’s owner, a homeless man who had been dozing nearby. Upon waking, he too drew a knife and confronted the worker about his injured pet.

According to eyewitnesses, the two men exchanged heated words but thankfully did not engage in further violence. Following the incident, police were called to the scene and arranged for the dog’s removal to the ASPCA Animal Hospital on the Upper East Side for urgent treatment.

Both men involved in the altercation were arrested, with the Union Square Partnership worker facing charges of cruelty to an animal and menacing.
