Bronx: LaShonna Clark becomes first behavioral health apprentice to lead new era in mental health care

The Inspired Community Project has announced the hiring of New York State’s first-ever Behavioral Health Apprentice.

This pioneering initiative is set to transform the landscape of mental health care in the Bronx and beyond.

The newly appointed apprentice, LaShonna Clark, is a proud Bronx native whose dedication and expertise are well-recognized in the community.

Her extensive experience in communication, problem-solving, and leadership within educational and care settings makes her an invaluable asset to this innovative program.

Clark has a proven track record of effectively supporting children and adults with developmental disabilities, particularly those on the autism spectrum.

Through the trailblazing Behavioral Health Apprenticeship Program, LaShonna Clark will embark on a journey to become a skilled Behavior Technician (BT).

The program offers her the unique opportunity to gain hands-on training in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) while working towards certification as a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT).

This program is not only a personal achievement for Clark but also a monumental step forward for the Bronx community. “It’s a groundbreaking step forward in expanding behavioral health services in the Bronx, and we are proud to lead the way,” The Inspired Community Project said on Facebook post.

This initiative is expected to set a precedent for future apprenticeships, nurturing a new generation of professionals dedicated to enhancing the quality of life for individuals with developmental challenges.

By investing in such innovative programs, The Inspired Community Project is reinforcing its commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive environment for all residents of New York State.
