Adams, Trump plan ways to return manufacturing jobs to Bronx

New York City Mayor Eric Adams has expressed optimism following his recent meeting with U.S. President-elect Donald Trump, where the two discussed ways to bring manufacturing jobs back to the Bronx.

The conversation, held this afternoon, was centered around various issues impacting New York City, with a strong focus on economic revitalization and public safety.

Mayor Adams emphasized the importance of collaboration between the federal government and the city to meet local needs. “President Trump and I had a productive conversation about New York’s needs and what’s best for our city, and how the federal government can play a more helpful role in improving the lives of New Yorkers,” Adams stated.

The discussion touched on a wide range of topics, including the ceasefire agreement between Israel and Hamas, which the mayor believes will positively influence public safety across the U.S. However, the most pressing issue for Adams was the return of manufacturing jobs to New York, particularly in the Bronx, an area historically known for its industrial base.

“We specifically focused on how we can bring manufacturing jobs back to New York, particularly in the Bronx,” Adams highlighted.

The mayor also expressed his commitment to advocating for continued federal investments in the city’s infrastructure to ensure its future growth and stability. Despite some political differences, Adams made it clear that his main priority is the welfare of New Yorkers.

“I will take every opportunity possible to advocate for New Yorkers and our city,” he asserted.

Adams closed his statement by thanking President Trump for his attention to the city’s needs and voiced his eagerness to continue working with the incoming president to enhance the lives of New Yorkers.

“I strongly believe there is much our city and the federal government can partner on to make New York City safer, stronger, and more affordable,” he said.
