“Justice must be served”: Councilwoman Marmorato demands action in brutal murder of Trevor Hughes

In the wake of the tragic murder of Trevor Hughes, Councilwoman Kristy Marmorato of District 13 has issued a strong call for justice, urging law enforcement and the judicial system to act swiftly in bringing the perpetrators to account.

“The murder of Trevor Hughes is a brutal, senseless act that cannot go unpunished,” Marmorato stated. “The criminals responsible must be found, prosecuted to the fullest extent, and kept behind bars so they can never harm another person.”

Marmorato emphasized the urgent need for public cooperation and law enforcement efforts to ensure the safety of Morris Park and the broader New York City community.

She called upon the NYPD to intensify its investigation and urged the District Attorney’s office to take firm legal action.

“I urge the NYPD to bring them to justice and call on our District Attorney to ensure they stay away from our communities. Morris Park and all of NYC deserve safe streets,” she said.

She also encouraged residents to step forward with any information that could assist in solving the case. Citizens with relevant details are urged to contact NYPD Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS or visit crimestoppers.nypdonline.org.

As the investigation continues, the community remains on edge, demanding swift action to prevent further violence.

“Justice must be served,” Marmorato declared, reinforcing her commitment to ensuring safer streets for all New Yorkers.
