Police discover explosive devices in New York park before Trump rally

Law enforcement officials have uncovered explosive devices in a New York City park just hours before a scheduled rally for former President Donald Trump.

The discovery has prompted an extensive police sweep and heightened security measures, as authorities work urgently to determine the source and intent behind the potentially dangerous devices.

The explosive devices were found in a routine security check, setting off a swift response from the city’s emergency services.

The New York City Police Department (NYPD) has cordoned off the area, deploying bomb squads and specialized units to ensure public safety and neutralize any potential threats.

The immediate vicinity has been evacuated, and roads leading to the park have been closed as a precautionary measure.

“The safety of our citizens is our top priority, and we are taking every necessary step to ensure that the area is secure,” NYPD said.

It added, “We are working closely with federal and local partners to understand the nature of these devices and identify those responsible.”

The discovery has cast a shadow over what was expected to be a significant gathering for Trump supporters. Rally organizers have been in constant communication with law enforcement to assess the situation and determine the feasibility of proceeding with the event. While the source of the explosives remains unclear, authorities are leaving no stone unturned in their investigations.
