Queens Resident arrested in major weapons bust, NYPD uncovers ghost guns, ammunition cache

In a significant breakthrough following an extensive investigation, the New York Police Department (NYPD), in collaboration with the Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) New York El Dorado Task Force and the Queens District Attorney’s Office, has apprehended a Queens resident and seized a substantial arsenal of weapons.

This operation underscores the ongoing efforts to curb illegal firearms and enhance public safety.

The NYPD, through its Financial Crimes Task Force, revealed details of the arrest that took place yesterday morning. The operation led to the recovery of an alarming array of weaponry, including 10 firearms and 8 ghost guns, among which was a ghost AR-15. Ghost guns, known for their untraceable nature due to the lack of serial numbers, pose a significant challenge to law enforcement agencies.

In addition to the firearms, authorities confiscated thousands of rounds of ammunition, over a hundred high-capacity magazines, and several gun parts and attachments. This cache highlights the potential threat posed by the illegal manufacturing and distribution of firearms components.

The law enforcement agencies involved in this operation are committed to dismantling networks that contribute to the proliferation of illegal weapons.

The NYPD statement emphasizes the importance of such collaborative efforts in safeguarding communities from gun violence and criminal activities.
