In a vibrant celebration of culture and community, NYC Council Member Amanda Farias joined the PS 69 community to honor Diwali, the Festival of Lights.
The event featured Chancellor Aviles-Ramos, Superintendent Jenifer Joynt, and leaders from the Community Education Council (CEC), making it a memorable occasion for all involved.
Farias expressed her joy, stating, “I was so happy to join the PS 69 community for a Diwali celebration… I was so moved by the performance and seeing all of our students celebrate the Festival of Lights together.”

Farias had a delightful reunion with her childhood friend, Keon, whose daughter performed at the event. She shared her excitement, saying, “Thank you to the students and faculty for an amazing showcase!”
