Vice President Harris vows continued support for victims of Hurricane Helene

Vice President Kamala Harris has assured the nation of the Administration’s unwavering commitment to emergency response and recovery efforts towards victims of Hurricane Helene.

After a comprehensive briefing with FEMA Administrator Deanne Criswell, Harris took to social media to update the public on the latest developments and the federal government’s ongoing actions to support affected communities.

“I was just briefed by @FEMA_Deanne Criswell on the latest developments about the ongoing impacts of Hurricane Helene,” Harris stated, emphasizing the Administration’s proactive stance.

“We also discussed our Administration’s continued actions to support emergency response and recovery.”

The vice-president also highlighted her communication with North Carolina Governor Roy Cooper, acknowledging the efforts being made at the state level.

“I also spoke with @NC_Governor Cooper about the ongoing rescue and recovery efforts in North Carolina,” she noted, reinforcing the collaborative approach between federal and state authorities.

Harris reassured the public that the Administration is maintaining constant contact with state and local officials. “Our Administration will continue to stay in constant contact with state and local officials to ensure communities have the support and resources they need,” she affirmed.

In a heartfelt message, Harris expressed her empathy for those affected by the disaster. “Doug and my thoughts are with all those who lost loved ones and those whose homes, businesses, and communities were damaged or destroyed during this disaster,” she added, underscoring the shared grief and resolve to rebuild and recover.
