BP Gibson Leads Bronx Advocacy Day, Launches Bilingual Senior Resource Guide and Allocates Funds for Aging Support

Bronx Borough President Vanessa Gibson has reaffirmed her administration’s commitment to senior citizens with the successful hosting of the 3rd Annual Bronx Aging Advocacy Day at Borough Hall.

The event, held in collaboration with LiveOn NY and local senior service providers, brought together community leaders and advocates to champion the rights and welfare of older adults in the Bronx.

“We were honored to stand with our older adults and reaffirm that aging is not a crisis—it’s a journey that deserves support, respect, and real investment,” Gibson stated in a heartfelt message.

During the event, Gibson announced a $10,000 allocation from her office to LiveOn NY to bolster their advocacy efforts on behalf of seniors. This funding aims to support expanded outreach and strengthen the fight for essential resources that Bronx seniors urgently need.

A key highlight of the day was the launch of the Bronx Senior Resource Guide, now available in both English and Spanish.

The guide is designed to connect older adults with vital services, from healthcare to housing support.

In addition to celebrating the contributions of seniors, Gibson used the platform to advocate for increased senior service funding in the New York City budget, reinforcing the need for long-term investment in aging services.

“Thank you to everyone who joined us!” Gibson wrote, recognizing the collective effort to ensure the Bronx remains a borough where seniors are valued and supported.
