In a significant boost to healthcare in the Bronx, Council Member Eric Dinowitz announced a collaborative effort with Bronx Borough President Vanessa Gibson to allocate $1.4 million in funding aimed at enhancing breast cancer detection.
This initiative will provide Montefiore Medical Center with essential resources to purchase state-of-the-art 3D mammography units and a mobile mammography van, ensuring that residents have access to the best early detection services available.
Dinowitz emphasized the importance of this funding, stating, “Together, we allocated $1.4M to Montefiore to purchase 3D mammography units and a mammography van, ensuring the best in early detection for Bronx residents.”
This investment is expected to significantly improve the quality of breast cancer screening in the community, addressing a critical health disparity and promoting proactive healthcare measures.
