Council member Farias leads key discussions at NYC economic development conference

Council Member Amanda Farias, a leading voice in New York City politics, hosted and kicked off the Legislative Breakfast at the NYC Employment and Training Coalition (NYCETC) x City & State Conference.

The event served as a platform for influential discussions on economic development, workforce growth, and the future of New York City industrial sector.

Expressing her enthusiasm for the event, Farias remarked, “Excited to host and kick off this morning’s Legislative Breakfast for NYCETC x City & State Conference! It was fun chatting with Wayne Ho, from CPC, on what does economic development mean to me while look at Setting NYC’s Agenda.”

The conference featured a dynamic panel on the industrial sector and its strategic planning. Topics included industrial rezoning, workforce development, and strategies for equitable economic growth. Council Member Farias highlighted the importance of these discussions, emphasizing that “The future of NYC’s manufacturing sector will be shaped by technological innovation, sustainability, and a focus on creating inclusive opportunities for all communities.”

Farias joined forces with Small Business Services (SBS) Commissioner Kevin D. Gross and ITAC Executive Director Kinda Younes to explore ways to strengthen New York City’s economic resilience. The trio delved into strategies to ensure the city’s industrial and manufacturing sectors adapt to evolving technological and sustainability demands while prioritizing equity.

“Grateful to join this conversation with amazing panelists – SBS Commissioner Gross and ITAC’s Kinda Younes – to work together on building a stronger, more resilient economy for New York City,” Farias shared.
