Mayor Adams applauds Biden’s ceasefire efforts between Israel, Hezbollah

Mayor Eric Adams has expressed strong support for the recent ceasefire agreement brokered by President Joe Biden and his team between Israel and Hezbollah, emphasizing the importance of peace for New York City’s diverse communities.

As a city with the largest Jewish population outside Israel and one of the nation’s most established Lebanese communities, New York has felt the emotional weight of the conflict deeply.

In a statement reflecting his commitment to unity and peace, Mayor Adams wrote, “I commend President Biden and his team for their tireless efforts to broker a ceasefire between Israel and Hezbollah. As mayor of the city with the largest Jewish population outside of Israel, as well as the nation’s longest-standing Lebanese community, I understand how deeply painful this war has been for both communities. This ceasefire will be critical in preventing further violence, saving lives, and taking an important step toward peace in the entire region.”
