Council member Ung highlights 2024 achievements, pledges continued progress for district 20 in 2025

Council Member Sandra Ung reflected on her tenure and the accomplishments of 2024 while pledging to continue her efforts to improve New York City’s District 20 in the coming year.

“It has been an honor to serve as your Council member for the past three years, and I look forward to working with all of you in 2025 to make District 20 a better place to live, work, and raise a family,” Ung stated in her New Year message.

Highlighting key achievements, Ung emphasized her dedication to addressing public cleanliness and safety. “In addition to passing legislation to target people and businesses that treat our public spaces as their personal garbage dumps, I allocated hundreds of thousands of dollars for additional graffiti removal and trash pickup in our community,” she said.

Ung also underscored the restoration of $58.3 million in funding for the city’s library systems, enabling the Flushing Library to resume Sunday service. Investments in open spaces, increased resources for the 109th Precinct, and millions allocated for schools and immigrant services rounded out her list of accomplishments.

“We ensured that services and resources reached every corner of our community and worked hard to bring meaningful programs and support to District 20,” she added.

Ung expressed gratitude to her constituents for their support, saying, “Thank you for allowing me to serve you, and thank you for being such a vital part of what makes this community so special. Let’s keep building together.”

With a focus on collaboration and continued development, Council Member Ung is poised to tackle new challenges in 2025 while building on the progress achieved in the past year.
