Rabbi Bob Kaplan, a leader and founder of the Center for Shared Society at the Jewish Community Relations Council of New York (JCRC-NY), has announced a new chapter in his professional journey. In a heartfelt message, Kaplan expressed gratitude to colleagues and partners who have supported him during his nearly 32-year tenure.
“Dear All, I want to thank you all for being a partner, in so many different and unique ways, on my almost 32 years journey of being the founder and Executive Director of what is now known as the Center for Shared Society at JCRC-NY,” Kaplan wrote.
Reflecting on his tenure, Kaplan acknowledged the challenges and blessings that have defined his leadership. “It’s been a profound journey, often more than challenging, yet full of blessings and opportunities to live and grow in my faith,” he shared.
Effective January 1, 2025, Kaplan will assume a less time-intensive role as Senior Advisor at JCRC-NY while launching his own initiative, Bob Kaplan Consultations. This new endeavor aims to build on his legacy of fostering collaboration and understanding across diverse communities.
“Again, I am blessed to have you walk with me even one step on this road of meeting the opportunities and challenges set before us by our common Creator,” Kaplan expressed. “Let us continue to be partners and sources of strength, wisdom, and blessings in these times that we are traveling through.”
Rabbi Kaplan’s leadership has been instrumental in promoting interfaith dialogue, social cohesion, and community development across New York and beyond. His transition marks the end of an era, but his commitment to serving communities remains steadfast.
As he embarks on this new chapter, Rabbi Kaplan extends an open invitation to continue partnerships and collaborations. His enduring vision of unity and shared purpose will undoubtedly inspire his next endeavors.
