Unofficial election night results from the New York City Board of Elections show several incumbents and high-profile challengers leading key Democratic primary contests, with most city scanners reported late Tuesday night.

The Board of Elections listed the results as “Unofficial Election Night Results” for the June 23, 2026 primary, with data still subject to change as ballots are reviewed and certified. The New York State Board of Elections cautions that unofficial results are based on county reports and may change after the required recanvass and the counting of valid early mail, absentee, military, overseas, special and affidavit ballots.

In the Democratic primary for state comptroller, incumbent Thomas P. DiNapoli led in the New York City portion of the vote with 307,880 votes, or 58.87%, followed by Drew Warshaw with 127,107 votes, or 24.30%, and Raj Goyle with 85,026 votes, or 16.26%, with 97.41% of scanners reported in the city. Statewide, DiNapoli also led with 534,456 votes, or 60.60%, as of the state board’s late-night update.

In congressional races across New York City, several incumbents were ahead, while some challengers showed strong performances. In the 3rd Congressional District, Thomas R. Suozzi led the Democratic primary in the New York City portion with 74.70%. In the 6th District, Grace Meng led with 56.85%, while Chuck Park had 42.87%.

In the 7th Congressional District, Claire Valdez led with 56.06%, ahead of Antonio Reynoso, who had 35.79%. In the 9th District, Yvette D. Clarke led with 68.56%, while Dan Goldman trailed Brad Lander in the 10th District, where Lander had 65.81% to Goldman’s 34.00%.

In the 12th Congressional District, Micah C. Lasher led a crowded Democratic field with 39.14%, followed by Alex Bores with 34.96% and Jack Kennedy Schlossberg with 10.77%. In the 13th District, Darializa Avila Chevalier was narrowly ahead of incumbent Adriano Espaillat, with 49.40% to Espaillat’s 45.89% in the city results.

In the 14th Congressional District, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez led decisively with 86.94%, while in the Bronx-based 15th Congressional District, Ritchie Torres led with 71.95%, ahead of Michael Blake, who had 21.81%, and Jose Vega, who had 5.58%.

Several state Senate races also showed notable early leads in the statewide unofficial results. Aber Kawas led Steven B. Raga in the Democratic primary for the 12th Senate District, while Jessica Gonzalez-Rojas led Jessica Ramos and Hiram Monserrate in the 13th Senate District. Joseph P. Addabbo Jr., Jessica Scarcella-Spanton, Jabari Brisport, Grace Lee, Jose M. Serrano and Robert Jackson were also leading their respective Democratic Senate contests in the unofficial state board results.

The results remain unofficial. Under state election rules, final outcomes cannot be certified until election officials complete the recanvass and count all valid outstanding ballots. That means close races, especially contests with narrow margins or partial scanner reporting, may shift in the coming days.

For New Yorkers, the results reflect more than candidate totals. They show how primary elections continue to shape representation in a city where many local and congressional districts are heavily influenced by party primaries. The next test for election officials, candidates and communities is ensuring transparency, patience and trust as the remaining ballots are processed.
